Dear First Graders,

Greetings! My name is Mrs. Hogan and I’m so excited to be part of the first grade teaching team at Middleton Heights Elementary School again this school year. Most importantly, I am thrilled to be YOUR teacher! It’s going to be a fun year filled with loads of learning and new adventures. I can’t wait to see what this year has in store for us. I soon want to know all about you, but first I’m going to tell you a few things about me.

I love teaching because I love learning! I have a B.A. degree in Liberal Studies, a cleared teaching credential, and a M.A. degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I continue to take classes because learning is fun and it makes me a better teacher. This will be my 16th year in education. I have taught kindergarten, first grade, second grade, and teachers. Yes, I spent 5 years as an instructional coach teaching teachers. I’m delighted to be teaching you in first grade this year.

I am married to a wonderful husband and we have two precious children, a spoiled Cocker Spaniel, a horse named Hunter, and a pond full of fish. My family is special and I miss them while I am teaching, so I’ll need lots of hugs from you!
