Mrs. Charity Buckley

Welcome to Heights Elementary!  I am so excited to be joining the Heights family this year.  I grew up in Homedale, I was raised by my father alongside my brother.  My dad played football for Boise State, so I have been a fan since I was born.  Go Broncos!  Since I grew up in a house with all boys, I was always around sports.  I grew up playing three sports and spent most of my time in the gym or on the football field.  I attended Hope International University in Southern California where I was able to continue my softball career.  I recently moved back to Idaho this past summer.  I have taught previously here in Idaho as well as in North Carolina and Oregon.  I enjoyed my time in these other places, but I am so thankful to have this opportunity to return to my home!

This is my seventh year teaching.  I have taught 3rd-6th grades, and have enjoyed the last three years in 5th grade.  I strive to create a classroom where students and parents feel welcome. My goal is for my students to become curious, to think deeply, and to become life-long learners.  I create a challenging environment where I have high expectations for student learning and behavior.  I also strive to make learning fun and engaging for my students.  I love technology and will be using this resource throughout the year.  Just as with sports, you have to practice to get better.  So my students are encouraged to read, read, and read some more!

In my free time I enjoy attending sporting events, watching movies, working in my garden, and reading.  My husband is also a teacher.  I have two daughters, one at the middle school and the other who will be attending Heights this year.  Our family also includes our golden retriever Baymax.  We are all excited to be apart of the Middleton community!
