My name is Nichole Kristensen. I have been the principal at Heights Elementary School for three years. I have a strong passion to create an enriching and fun learning environment for students, families and staff and can’t wait to start this next school year.
I have been in education for the past 14 years. I graduated from Boise State University in 2008 with my Bachelor's in Elementary Education with a focus on Special Education. I started my career as a special education teacher in the West Ada School District and eventually moved to the Boise School District. I have taught students from Kindergarten through sixth grade in both resource and extended resource settings.
In 2014, I completed a M.Ed. in Special Education and was given the opportunity to work at Boise State University as an Instructional Coordinator for a program called Idaho SESTA. Within that role, I provided support and assistance to educators throughout the state of Idaho when working with students with disabilities. In 2018, I completed an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership, which ignited a passion within me to work as an administrator at the school level.
I am married and have two beautiful daughters. We have lived in the Treasure Valley for the last 20 years. As a family, we enjoy all of the outdoor activities Idaho has to offer.
