Mrs. Jennifer Vickhammer

My name is Jennifer Vickhammer and I teach physical education and creative writing at Middleton Middle School. I have been teaching middle school and high school over the past 20 years. I received my Bachelor’s of Science in English Education and Physical Education at the University of Idaho in 1995. I started teaching and coaching basketball and volleyball in Castleford, ID. It was a great community to get my feet wet but moved to Kimberly, ID six years later. A new job for my husband brought us to the Boise area where I applied for a job at Middleton High School and worked for eight years. Four years ago I left the high school to be a full time PE teacher at the middle school. It has been a wonderful experience and I hope to retire from the Middleton School District in the future.

I have two wonderful sons, Jake and Zach, who are twins. I feel blessed to have taught them their three years at the middle school. My husband of 20+ years, Brad, works for the Boise Police Department and he is my biggest supporter. He too taught for seven years and understands the importance of education.

I am passionate about teaching and an advocate for all kids. I am a member of the National Education Association as well as the IEA and MEA. I am also a member of SHAPE;  SHAPE America is the nation's largest organization of health and physical educators.

I truly believe all children can learn and grew up in a family full of teachers. Whether in the classroom or on the court, I try to encourage kids to do their best and take chances.

“I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I can't accept not trying.”
