Degrees and Certifications:
My name is Janine Remington and I LOVE teaching seventh grade life science! 2023-2024 will be my 19th year in education and I'm starting my 16th year here at Middleton Middle School. I am a long standing member of the NSTA, ISTA, and IdEEA.
As a science educator, I have the privilege of witnessing many "light bulb moments" in the classroom. Often students come to class with minor misconceptions and/or an incomplete understanding of the natural world around them. Helping students learn to piece their prior knowledge together with newly learned material and form a new, or more complete, understanding of science material is truly an enriching experience. Ultimately my goal is to teach students how to think, not what to think.
When I am not at work some of my interests include: camping, fly fishing, zip lining, windsurfing, kayaking, biking, gardening, card crafting and the list goes on. I am a life-long learner and love seeking out professional development (PD) opportunities which enrich my knowledge of the topics I teach. Many of my PD opportunities allow me to bring back engaging activities for my students to learn our content through.
