Hello Everyone!
My name is Janine Remington and I teach seventh grade life science. I have been teaching for 17 years, the last 14 here at Middleton Middle School. I am a long standing member of the NSTA.
As a science educator, I have the privilege of witnessing many "light bulb moments" in the classroom. Often students come to class with minor misconceptions and/or an incomplete understanding of the natural world that surrounds them. Helping students learn to piece their prior knowledge together with newly learned material to form a new understanding is truly an enriching experience. Ultimately my goal is to teach students how to think, not what to think.
When I am not at work some of my interests include: camping, fly fishing, zip lining, wind surfing, kayaking, biking, gardening, and the list goes on. I am a life-long learner and love seeking out professional development opportunities which help deepen my knowledge of the subject I teach. Those opportunities allow me to bring back engaging activities for my students to learn our content through.
