Miss Heather Larsen

Hello! My name is Heather Larsen. I am a third grade teacher. I have been teaching in Middleton since 2004. I have taught grades 2-5. In 2010 I finished my Master's degree at Boise State in Curriculum and Instruction. I love learning and I love sharing that love with my students.

I grew up in Washington and moved to Idaho when I was 12. I knew I wanted to be a teacher when I met my fabulous fifth grade teacher Mrs. Vreiling. She was amazing. She was a new teacher and was able to juggle both the fifth and sixth graders in her class. She was the first teacher that seemed like a real person to me. I graduated from Nampa High School, Ricks College, Boise State and then Boise State again. I really loved being in college, I keep debating about whether to go back for another degree or not.

I love to travel. I have been to Japan, Italy, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, the UK, Western Caribbean, Mexico, and all over the United States. I love waking up in a foreign country and just soaking up the atmosphere, hearing the languages, interacting with the people and learning about the culture. My goal is to travel to all of the inhabited continents, (I'll leave Antarctica to the penguins). I am halfway to my goal. I've wanted to travel to Australia most of my life, thanks to my literary friend Alexander who had a no good, very bad day and wanted to move to Australia.
