Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Rachael Griffith

Greetings Vikings!

My name is Rachael Griffith and I am the new Choir teacher at MHS. This will be my 8th year as a Certified Public Educator, and I am thrilled to be joining the MHS family! I received my degree from BSU in 2015, and was fortunate enough to do my student teaching right here at MHS under Mr. Dan Child (talk about coming full circle!). began my teaching career in the West Ada district, where I taught PreK-5th grade music and beginning orchestra. I then moved to the Caldwell district, where I was able to focus on my main instrument, Voice. I taught the middle school choirs at both Jefferson and Syringa.

Outside of school, I have over 30 years of professional stage and singing experience, including Musicals, Jazz groups, and Operas (my face is on an Opera Idaho billboard downtown). I have studied in NYC at the Mannes School of Music in conjunction with the International Vocal Arts Institute, and the Utah Vocal Arts Academy at Utah Lyric Opera. I also currently hold the position of Primary Soloist at the Boise First Church of Christ, Scientist. I have coached Idaho All-State choir rehearsals, and adjudicated the Solo/Ensemble fest every year for the past 7 years.

I am fortunate enough to be able to spend my free time with my husband, who is also a teacher (of Physical and Earth Sciences at Vallivue high), our children, and my two grandbabies. We enjoy playing chess, Magic the Gathering, hiking, camping, and gardening.

I am beyond excited to be embarking on this new adventure! I can’t wait to get to know all of you!

Onward!
