Hey there, my name is Emily Trosen. I am thrilled to be starting my fourth year of my teaching career at Purple Sage. I graduated from the University of Idaho with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Elementary Education. In my time here at PSE, I have really enjoyed getting to know the students and staff. I love teaching in a small school environment! I enjoy supporting my students outside of school by going to their extra-curricular events, or simply just running into them somewhere in Middleton (Miss Trosen, you don’t live and sleep at the school??). My teaching philosophy consists of making sure that my students know and understand that my classroom is a safe place for them to learn and grow. Each and every student has the right to excel. I understand that every child that comes into my classroom has a story, a background, and a learning history. I will give my best effort to meet them where they are and help them improve. In my classroom I demand excellence. I have very high expectations because I know what 4^th graders are capable of!

 I try to remember this quote by Maya Angelou. She said, “At the end of the day people won’t remember what you said or did, they will remember how you made them feel.” It is my job to make these kids feel like they are worth something great.
