Mrs. Christa Peterson

Thank you for taking time to explore our class site! Throughout my ten years at PSE I have taught both fourth and fifth grade. Since both grades are simply AMAZING, I decided to teach a little of both.. why not?! So for the past two years I've been able to focus on 4th and 5th grade math, in addition to 5th grade Social Studies, Science, and Health.

This year we will be relying heavily on digital communication: ClassDojo, Google Classroom, and this school website. If you have not connected to our ClassDojo I encourage you to do so as soon as possible. Dojo has an excellent App to add to your phone, making parent-teacher communication seamless. Students will be fully trained in Google Classroom as it will be our main platform for class collaboration both in and out of the classroom.

Now, a little about me!

I moved to Idaho to attend Northwest Nazarene University, where I earned a degree in Elementary Education. During my time at NNU, I ran for the Track and Field team, which is one of my most favorite college memories and, believe it or not, has played a large part in my perception of a classroom. After getting into my teacher career for a few years I decided to pursue another passion: Technology Integration in the Classroom. Boise State University equipped me with many tools to help students utilize technology efficiently in the learning process.

Relaxation to Mrs. Peterson = exploring mountains! My favorite ways to do this are by hiking and backpacking, bow hunting, skiing and snowmobiling. My camera often accompanies me on these adventures so I can capture the beautiful world we live in!

One of my life mottos is that "we are all life long learners," which this year will be taking on a much greater reality. The 2020-2021 school year is going to be a team adventure, and I can't wait to get it started with each of YOUR students!
