Mrs. Christa Peterson
Greetings! Thank you so much for taking time to explore our class site. This will be my ninth year at Purple Sage Elementary. Go Coyotes!! While working at PSE I have taught both fourth and fifth grade. I moved to Idaho to attend Northwest Nazarene University, where I earned a degree in Elementary Education. During my time at NNU, I ran for the Track and Field team, which is one of my most favorite college memories and, believe it or not, has played a large part in my perception of a classroom.
After teaching for a few years I decided to explore deeper into one of my passions, technology in the classroom. I completed a Master's program in Educational Technology through Boise State University in 2014. Growing up in a high tech school district as a student, I have seen the benefits of integrating tech and education. This was one of the major reasons I decided to pursue a Master's degree in this area. I love being able to utilize tech as much as possible in the classroom. It makes learning so interactive and engaging.
Aside from exploring new technology opportunities for students, I love to hike and camp, bow hunt, ski, snowmobile and snow shoe. Whenever possible I also try to capture the beautiful world we live in through photography! Idaho has been my home for tweleve years now and I have thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Being part of the Purple Sage family has been such a joy and blessing.
I am so excited for the 2018-19 school year. I've always lived by the motto that "we are all life long learners". Fifth grade is an awesome year that moves quickly and covers much ground. We have some extraordinary activities planned for the year. So, I hope everyone had plenty of rest this summer, because fifth grade is here!!
