HELLO FROM THE NEW SCHOOL COUNSELOR!
Let me begin by saying I am incredibly excited to be at Heights Elementary! I have been looking forward to working within the schools for a long time, and my journey has finally led me here. It is my goal to be known to all students at Heights as a safe support, and all-around fun guy. I also plan to provide classroom guidance lessons for each grade K-5 th – we will be focusing on classroom curriculum provided by www.randomactsofkindness.org. Throughout the year, I hope to meet many of you but please feel free to reach out with any questions, concerns, or just to say “hello” :-)
A little about me –
I grew up in Kuna, raised by a nice couple who took me in when I was 12 years old. In 2011 I graduated from Boise State University (GO BRONCOS!) with my Master’s Degree in Social Work. From 2011-2018, I built upon my knowledge and skills as a clinical case manager working with therapeutic foster children and resource families; and from 2018-2019 continued my clinical skills as a mental health therapist in the Boise area.
My background, training, and passion is working with children and families from all different walks of life
– however, my specialty is with those impacted by traumatic and/or adverse experiences. My goal is to build a connection with each and every person I work with, and to foster a committed relationship that is intended to last a lifetime.
My amazing wife and I share two fun and ambitious boys, as well as a wild/loving dog. In my spare time I really enjoy spending time with my family, being active, and being outdoors.
Here’s to an amazing year!
