At the end of last school year (2013-14) our District-wide enrollment was 3,600 students in grades Pre-12. This year (2014-15) on the day after Labor Day (9-2-2014) we now have 3,760 students enrolled. This relates to +160 students or a 4.5% enrollment growth District wide. An emergency (one-time levy) was certified to collect 60% of the allowable funds to help cover the costs of these new students.
To accommodate this student enrollment growth, we hired nine new certified teachers throughout the District. The hiring of these new teachers will help in our endeavor to keep class sizes down and offer specialized assistance through instructional coaches and integration specialists.
